Reference resources
This section lists the main international reference resources for health data.
The World Health Organization (WHO) Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Dashboard provides updated data on the global situation, on the situation by WHO region, and on the situation by country, territory or area.
Johns Hopkins University - Coronavirus Resource Center is a resource to help advance the understanding of the virus, inform the public, and brief policymakers in order to guide a response, improve care, and save lives. Dashboard for world data visualization similar to the WHO resource is also available.
The US National Institutes of Health (NIH) provides access to the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) Data Enclave a secure platform through which harmonized clinical data provided by contributing members are stored. The Enclave includes demographic and clinical characteristics of patients who have been tested for or diagnosed with COVID-19, and further information about the strategies and outcomes of treatments for those suspected or confirmed to have the virus.
Google and Apple mobility data are available at Country, region and city levels. Other data like mobility for recreation, grocery, workplaces is also available.
Resources at the European COVID-19 Data Portal
- The European COVID-19 Data Portal is a resource developed at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) and proposes a collection of data related to SARS-CoV-2. No specific health data (e.g. incidence or other epidemiological data) are provided in the portal.
Resources developed in Italy
Protezione Civile - Github repository of health data, provided by the Italian government.
EpiCentro ITA - ENG Epidemiology for public health website, developed by Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) provides reports on Covid-19 in Italy.
Main resources are:
CovidStat INFN a resource provided by the CovidStat INFN Working Group, whose establishment was promoted within the National Institute of Nuclear Physics with the aim of providing the Covid Crisis Unit19 within the INFN with a statistical analysis of the data provided daily by the Civil Protection on the spread of the pandemic in Italy.
It provides more than 2000 graphics, maps, heatmaps, interactive pages, tables and statistical data like Rt and other statistical indexes.
Istat - Interactive graphics on deaths in Italy. Trend in deaths between 1 January and 31 August for the years 2015-2020 useful to infer the global number of deaths directly and indirectly related with COVID-19 pandemic.
Infographics on the status of the vaccination campaign in Italy.
GitHub repository of COVID-19 open data resources. The repository is mostly about health data but collects other interesting data like shops with delivery service in Italy and statistical data about the numbers of, people charged and fined by the Italian police during the pandemic.
CRESCO (ENEA): Computational RESearch Centre on COmplex systems. The Center makes available for research on Covid-19, at no cost, its own supercomputer ENEA CRESCO 6
